Build a Simple Onboarding Journey for New Hires - free Learnophia webinar, 20 October 2026 at 12:00 pm EDT, hosted by Dr. Claire Odogbo

About this session

The first few weeks decide how long someone stays and how quickly they become useful. Most onboarding fails not because the content is wrong but because it is scattered: a welcome email here, a policy pack there, a buddy who was never told they were a buddy.

This session is about the opposite. One journey, laid out end to end, that a new hire can follow without asking where to go next, and that a small team can actually maintain.

What is covered

  • The first day, designed on purpose. What belongs in it, what does not, and why most day-one agendas quietly overwhelm.
  • Connection before content. Introductions, buddies and manager check-ins placed where they change how the role feels rather than where they fit the calendar.
  • Clarity about the role. Turning a job description into the handful of things a new hire is expected to do well in the first ninety days.
  • A journey you can maintain. Sequencing the whole thing so one person can keep it current, and it does not rot the first time the org chart moves.
  • Knowing it worked. The few signals worth watching in the first month, and the ones that only look like progress.

Who it is for

HR and people leads, operations managers, and anyone who has inherited onboarding and wants to make it coherent without a large project behind it. No prior Learnophia experience is needed, and nothing in the session assumes a big team or budget.

What you leave with

A simple journey outline you can adapt the same week, and a clear view of which parts are worth automating and which are better left human.

Claire founded Learnophia to make workplace learning something small teams can actually run, not just something large ones can afford. She works with organizations on the practical end of people development, where a plan has to survive contact with a real week.

She hosts Learnophia's live sessions, and brings the same approach to each of them: build the thing in the room rather than describe it from a slide.
